More “No” Power

Good morning, dear blog readers, and a Happy Sunday and Day of the Sun to you!

Today is a very powerful day.  The Sun has been in Gemini (Sign of Communication) for approximately half-an-hour, and the Moon shall enter Gemini tonight, at approximately 7:05PM (the New Moon in Gemini shall be at 7:47PM tonight, too).

New Moons are excellent for beginning anything: a new business venture, a romantic relationship, an empowering habit.  However, in some Magickal Tradtions, the New Moon is not in effect until one sees the barest glimmer of the Waxing Maiden Goddess’ Crescent Smile.

So, to cover all the bases, I recommend that you make two lists, and here is how you do it:

THE ELIMINATION LIST: Make a list of what you want to eliminate from your life, both the tangible and intangible.  In the Numerology of the Sacred Tarot, Five (5) is the Number of Change, so we shall list five items.  Here is an example:

1. A bag of old clothes

2. poverty consciousness

3. procrastination

4. Five pounds of excess weight

5. The chair I no longer use

THE MANIFESTATION LIST: On this list, you write down what you wish to manifest in your life, again, tangible, as well as intangible.  For example:

1. Greater Persistence Power

2. A new and regular client

3. A new chair for my livingroom

4. Increased physical Energy for mundane tasks

5. A $5.00 off coupon for my local supermarket

At the bottom of the Elimination List, write down “I NOW SURRENDER AND RELEASE ALL THAT NO LONGER SERVES MY NEEDS.  I NO LONGER LIVE IN FEAR, AND I LET GO AND TRUST.”  On the bottom of the Manifestation List write at the bottom “MAY THIS OR BETTER NOW BE MADE MANIFEST IN MY LIFE.  To learn more about Elimination and Manifestation Lists, check out any one of Catherine Ponder’s books.

Incidentally, you can also make a third list, your Gratitude List.  Here is an example:

1. The Moon

2. Cookies ‘n’ Cream Ice Cream

3. My personal Psychic Advisor, Roger Pratt

4. My three beautiful cats

5. My deep and rich connection to the Divine

Although you can make Elimination and Manifestation Lists at any time, I find they are especially powerful on New Moons.  Here is a small list (compiled from Llewelleyn’s 2012 Daily Planetary Guide) for the New Moons for the rest of 2012:

Tuesday, June 19

Thursday, July 19

Friday, August 17

Saturday, September 15

Monday, October 15 (and yes, youmustplay Duran Duran’s “New Moon on Monday” before you make your lists!)

Tuesday, November 13

Thursday, December 13

Finally, trust that there is something beautiful, powerful and Sacred in declaring “No,” be it spoken or written, thought or declared in action.  When you say “No” to another person manipulating you; when you say “No more” to living inside of a negative, disempowering belief; when you say “Not any more” to a habit that, at best, limits your success and, at worse, causes you pain, then that is when you begin to move forward.  That is when so much is given unto you and opened up for you.  And that is when the Magick happens.  Thank you.

  1. This is a really good post to introduce people to The Secret and for folks who are familiar with the lists you have here and thought processes – a great reminder! Many of the things on your sample lists I can relate to and had to chuckle about the coupon in the Manifestation list. It may seem silly or simple but it’s these types of things happening after we put the thought energy out there that delight us when they manifest into our reality! Any time is a good time for a Gratitude list I think – especially when the cards are going in your favor! Enjoy the rest of your day/weekend!

    • Actually, I AM introducing to some and Re-Minding others of the Powers inherent in themselves and New Moons, as well as the amazing books of Dr. Catherine Ponder (who, along with [the late and great] Florence Scovel Shinn) had been writing about “The Law of Attraction” long before the book “The Secret” was published. Interestingly enough, a relative gave me a $5.00 off coupon a few months ago; I loved it so much I told the Universe, “More, please!” And yes, any time is a good time for a Gratitude List. Thank you, saymber!

      • I didn’t realize the Law of Attraction was before the Secret….I’m obviously behind on these things but better late than never! It’s a very empowering process. That’s too funny about the coupons! Why not right?!!!

        • Oh, yes! Catherine Ponder’s books were published in the 1960s, and (the late and great) Florence Scovel Shinn’s book, “The Game of Life and How to Play It” was first published in 1925! And you are not necessarily behind on Metaphysical Studies; some people come to this sooner, and some later. Actually, I was a late bloomer in a lot of areas in my life.

  2. […] I am also going to do some moon magic – a little letting go, a little intention setting, and a little gratitude. Of course, it’s good to take stock on a regular basis—and have some gratitude everyday—but today is especially big. (My friend Robert Alvarez created a lovely post regarding the moon and the power of “no” just this morning. Check Robert’s post out). […]
