Kuan Yin, Part II

Today I conclude my two-part post on Kuan Yin, the Chinese Goddess of Mercy, Compassion and Forgiveness.

The following are the books that I shall consult to complete this two-part series of posts:

Daughters of the Moon Tarot (book), by Ffiona Morgan (Various Copyright years; Original Copyright year 1984, Eleventh Edition Copyright, May, 2000; Daughters of the Moon, Novato, California);

Archangels & Ascended Masters: A Guide to Working and Healing with Divinities and Deities, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D. (Copyright 2003, Hay House, Inc., Carlsbad, California);

The Encyclopedia of Spirits: The Ultimate Guide to the Magic of Fairies, Genies, Demons, Ghosts, Gods, and Goddesses, by Judika Illes (Copyright 2009, HarperCollins Publishers, New York, New York).

When I looked at my copy of Doreen Virtue’s Archangels & Ascended Masters, last night, I discovered that Kuan Yin’s Title of “the Mother Mary of the East” was not channeled; I had read it before, but had forgotten that I had done so.  My apologies.

That happens to those of us who are Empathic; we absorb words, feelings, vibrations and then we tend to forget that they did not originally from us.

Reading through this book, I remembered that She Is also known as Kwannon (Kuan Yin’s Name in Japanese), and it Re-Minded me of a story about Kuan Yin that I first read several years ago.  Alas, I do not recall exactly where and when.

Kuan Yin was once a man (a monk, to be precise) named Guanyin, but that his Compassion was so pure and powerful that when he became enlightened he was transformed into a Divine Female.

Or, as many of my fellow Witches would say, a Goddess.

In Judika Illes’ The Encyclopedia of Spirits, one of Her Titles is listed as “The Goddess of Mercy,” and “She Who Hears the Cries of the World,” which is one of the translations of Kuan Yin’s Name.

Also in The Encyclopedia of Spirits, Kuan Yin’s Traditional Color is White, and Her Gem is Pearl.  However, every time I tune in to Kuan Yin, I keep seeing pink, as well as other pastel colors.  I tend to see an Opalescent Aura around Kuan Yin.  In other words, pastel pink, pastel blue, pastel green, etc.  Swirling bubbles of these colors.

This makes sense (or, perhaps, Sense), as in one of another of Doreen Virtue’s books, Chakra Clearing (a book and CD set), a Rainbow Aura is often seen around an Energy Healing Practitioner, such as a Reiki Practitioner.

And given that many of my fellow Energy Healing Practitioners work with Her when conducting an Energy Healing, it was no surprise to me to see a Rainbow-like Aura around Kuan Yin.

Speaking of Chakras, Kuan Yin Is certainly a Goddess of the Heart Chakra, which leads me to connect Her, Energetically with Archangel Raphael, the Divine Healer of the Archangels.

Also in Judika Illes’ The Encyclopedia of Spirits, the New Moons and Full Moons are Sacred to Kuan Yin.

Now, according to Raven Kaldera’s MythAstrology, the Astrological Placement that Kuan Yin claimed as Her own is Moon in Cancer.  As a result, a Transiting Moon in Cancer, (DarkMoon (the Night before the New Moon), New Moon, Waxing Moon, Bright Moon (the Night before the Full Moon), Waning Moon in Cancer is an appropriate Lunar Tide to invoke Her, too.

I happen to know two people who have Moon in Cancer.  One whose Sun-Sign is Aries, and the other whose Sun-Sign is Gemini.

The Sun-Sign Gemini is a professional Psychic, who uses the Sacred Tarot, and he is also a Reiki I Practitioner; the Sun-Sign Aries is a Living Aries Goddess, as well as a Spirit Therapist, Clairvoyant and Rising Star Healing Practitioner.  Neither one of them knew about Raven Kaldera’s MythAstrology before they met me.

If you do not know if your Moon-Sign is Cancer, before you look up your Moon-Sign, see if you have always had a strong affinity with Kuan Yin.

Please keep in Mind that the Chinese Calendar is Lunar, not Solar.  Also, according to Judika Illes’ The Encyclopedia of Spirits, the nineteenth (19th) day of the second Chinese month is Kuan Yin’s Birthday.  PLEASE NOTE: In The Encyclopedia of Spirits, Kuan Yin’s Name is spelled Kwan Yin.

Finally, in the Daughters of the Moon Tarot, by Ffiona Morgan (Copyright 1998, Daughters of the Moon, Novato, California), Kuan Yin is depicted on the Nine of Cups Card.

This Tarot Card is traditionally known as the “Wish Fulfillment” Card.  Generally speaking, I had a friend who referred to it as the “Happy Happy Joy Joy Card.”

Indeed, the presence of the Nine of Cups is usually Auspicious.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Sacred Tarot, please remember that a Card can have many interpretations, and that number increases when the Diviner uses Reversed Cards (upside down cards; which I rarely do, unless my Psychic Guides Divinely Guide me to keep the Card Reversed, and interpret it from that perspective), but I digress.

For those of you who wish to Venerate Kuan Yin, give Her Oranges, Incense, tea (either Iron Oolong, or any Tea with Her Name on it).  You can also give Her Celestial Seasonings’ “Mandarin Orange Spice.”

In some ways, both Kuan Yin and Oshun have several similarities.  Not only do both of Them love Oranges, but both of Them have a connection to the Peacock.  You may wish to SEE my Oshun posts, “Oshun” and “Oshun, Part II.”

Finally, as with calling upon any Goddess, God, Angel, Fairy, Ascended Master, Saint, etc., I share with you some fantastic advice from a Priestess: come to Her/Him with an open Mind and a pure Heart.

If you are stressed, distracted, overwhelmed, etc., then if you go to Kuan Yin or any other Celestial Being, you shall not feel Her or His Presence of feel the Blessing, Healing or Message She or He gives you.

Yes, some times we go to Spirit because we feel as though we are going crazy, or feel as though the whole world is against us.

But if you take just a few moments to clear your Mind, empty your Heart, and eliminate whatever stress (or, the vast majority of it) that you are experiencing in that moment, it shall make a humongous difference.

Let that Celestial Being know that you are open, that you are receptive, that you are willing to surrender and release the gunk you are experiencing.

How do you know you have fully surrendered and released the gunk?  Because you feel lasting Peace, and your Faith in said Celestial Being is so powerful and profound that no one can take it away from you.

It is so easy in today’s world to say, “Well, my life is crap because of this man/this person’s death/this situation/etc.”  But, as I AM inclined to say, “Does that empower you?”  In other words, does saying, writing, thinking that make you happy and set you free?

Sometimes people come into our lives to Re-Mind us that we are Beings of Divine and Healing Love.

Any one who is open and receptive to Divine and Healing Love is someone who I want in my life.  And to state that I only want people who vibrate to the frequency is something I state with no malice, no hesitation and no apologies.

Why should we have unhappy people in our lives, as well as people who truly wish to remain angry and hurtful, of themselves and others.  Why should we accept and tolerate and absorb their suffering?  Are there not good people who can only benefit from what we have to offer?

Yes, some of us have bad days, but how long are we going to have bad days?  And how long are we going to accept bad days?  I have never believed that we were put on Earth to suffer.  And of all the Metaphysical, Magickal and Mystical books that I have read, not a one has stated otherwise.

If we are suffering, then we have the right AND the responsibility to surrender and release our suffering.  Why do we have to carry it?  We are not being ordered to carry a cross before being crucified on it.

These words may seem harsh to you, but I AM crystal clear that there are many people–especially clients, students and friends–that count on me, and having unkind, cruel, harmful people in my life does me no good, does my clients, students and friends (not to mention my beautiful and gorgeous Feline Daughters) no good, either.

I AM OK with ONLY having Loving, Spiritual and Prosperous people in my life who Lovingly and Lavishly shower me with Money, Gifts, Love, Honor and Joy.  They not only Re-Mind me that I AM Loving, Spiritual and Prosperous, but that I deserve nothing less from myself, from others and from Life.  Are you settling for less than all this?

If so, I invite you to ask Kuan Yin to cleanse you from within and without, and ask Her to prepare you to receive your Divine Bounty.  And if you are already receiving Divine Bounty, in whatever forms, then She shall prepare you to receive even more.

Thank you, one and all, for honoring who I AM and what I do.  May we continue to receive the Multitudes of Kuan Yin’s Blessings of Divine and Healing Love, and to especially and fully heal from those that have caused us harm and pain.

I have no idea who created this Venerated Vision of Kuan Yin, but I AM most thankful to bing.com for having the image.

  1. I enjoyed your two part series on Kwan Yin. She is always a comforting presence for me especially during challenging times.

    • Indeed, and given your special connection to Her, even more so.

Kuan Yin has been on my Mind for quite some time now. I recall a post in which I corrected myself about which Week of which Season was Hers, and since then I think of Her often.

Also, I AM giving Goddess Healings at a special event next month, and I know that I shall be offering Kuan Yin Healings then, as well.

      Thank you, swanofdreamers, for everything.

What do you think?
